Washington, D.C. – Producers for American Crude Oil Exports (PACE) executive director George Baker issued the following statement responding to comments made this afternoon by House Speaker John Boehner expressing his support for lifting the 40-year old ban on crude oil exports:
“Speaker Boehner’s leadership on this issue is critical and we welcome his comments in support of lifting the ban on crude oil exports. There is growing bipartisan support for repealing the ban and momentum continues to grow as more people recognize that this is an outdated policy that is no longer needed given America’s energy abundance.
“Study-after-study, from universities, think tanks and policy experts have shown that lifting the crude oil export ban will grow our economy, put downward pressure on gasoline prices, create and protect good-paying jobs and strengthen our national security. This is a win-win issue and we look forward to its consideration by the House of Representatives.”
